We've been busy this Memorial Day weekend, very very busy. It's felt good, to finally get some things accomplished. I hate those weekends when you go back to work and you still feel like so much needs to be done at home. Earlier in the week we returned home from California to what I refer to as the amazon. I was mortified at the weeds that had grown while we were away and how long our grass had grown after being gone two weekends in a row. ( I have never even come within about 12 feet of a lawn mower or a weed waker and JT seems a little reluctant to teach me, because I think he knows I will a) burn myself severly and b) blood will be drawn. I'm a girly girl through and through.. but why don't you ask him when was the last time he made dinner!)
Anyway, we got to work Saturday morning. JT took care of the
lawn while I did what I do best, spending our money on roses and hydrangeas, geraniums and petunias, lilies and jasmine. We borrowed my Grandpa's truck and impulsively bought a nice water feature, and adirondack chairs, as well as soil and mulch. We also bought vegtables for the garden that I have been promising Boston we would plant. They aren't in the ground yet, but I am hoping the weather holds out tomorrow and we will soon be able to pick, zuccini, peppers, cucumbers, roma tomatoes, and fresh herbs. I was really happy with the way things turned out. I love love love Spring/Summer time. The green grass, the flowers in everyone's yards. I have a tendency to get the winter blues and all the beauty of summer can instantly put a smile on my face, even if it did rain all weekend.

Jt also worked on the basement a bit this weekend; we still have a lot of finishing touches to do. He hung our mantle and the picture he gave me for my birthday. (also thanks Hay for the very cool pots.. I love them!) He also put up our pool table and worked on the lights in the bathroom. He was so sweet to sacrifice a three day weekend to help around the house and he didn't even go golfing; all with no complaining at all. I feel very lucky to have such a sweet, helpful husband.
Speaking of improvements, Snuggles was groomed in the last couple weeks and he looks like a new dog. It's amazing how I love him just a little more when he isn't so stinky and when you can actually see his eyes. Infact, I always tell my boys how much I love them when they get haircuts (Boston needs one badly!!) they just look that much cuter and seem that much more huggable!

Busy weekend! You're amazing--it all looks really great. I've never touched the lawn mower either, so I'm with you there. Now that it's warm--lets do Thanksgiving Point again! I had so much fun last time.
Your house and flower garden in front look amazing. I love your water pitchers.
