Messes Are Fun!!

We've had a big week. Luckily, my Mom saved the day and took time off from her Spring Break to come up and help us out. I've been really spoiled because as soon as she left my sister Hayley and her family came up to help us do the finish work in our basement; so I've had constant entertainment and help for almost a week, and I'm a bit scared about facing life and Motherhood alone once again tomorrow. It's been so nice to be able to say "can you watch Boston for just a minute while I do this or that?" Thursday night my Mom even stayed home alone with Boss after we put him to bed so we could sneak out and look at paint and tile at Home Depot. We got ice cream after and it almost felt like a date. We'll take any escape we can get.
I've been called as an Activities Day leader in our ward, which should be fun and interesting at the same time. I've hardly ever had a "real" calling of any sort and I'm not the biggest spiritual giant in the world so I just hope I can teach the girls anything and I hope they like me. Anyway, I had to make a bunch of cookies for our Recognition night and Boston thought it was great when I let him make a couple of his own. I'm not a Mom who's afraid of a little mess, so I gave him his own piece of dough, a cutting board, rolling pin, and some cookie cutters and he soon discovered what we all know.. that eating the cookie dough is way better than making cookies!
Thanks again to all of my family for sacrificing and helping us out. I love almost nothing more than just talking to my Mom and Sister, just hanging out and being girls. It's the best. Also thanks to Shawn for making the sweetest cabinet for our bathroom downstairs and for all your help!!

I feel like a total jerk, you are always the first one to comment on my blog. I don't check yours a lot because you don't post too often. But those pictures are so cute. What a cute boy he is. I like that you don't worry about messes. He will love that growing up. It's always more fun when you can make a mess.

I can't wait to see you guys. Easter will be so fun. I hope our boys will make it through the long day mom has planned. I think she thinks they are the energizer bunnies. I know Jack will be ready for bed when the day is over. Hopefully she packs them full of sugar to keep them going :) mom is famous for that. I guess she couldn't call herself Grandma if she did spoil them sometimes. Well drive safe we will see you Saturday morning.

I love Mom's!! They totally save the day. I don't have a sister, and I've always wanted one. Thats one of my biggest wishes was to have a sister to do things with. So I told Jed that we HAVE to have another girl, so Jocelyn can have a SISTER. The sister that I never had. LOL ( Now that I remember, thats right you did tell me that you were going to name your baby Jocelyn. When I saw that it didn't click, I just saw her name, and I got so excited!! LOL) You will totally be a great Activities Day leader!! I can totally see you with those girls, your gonna do so great!!

Last but not least, I must agree, eating the dough is so much better than waiting and cooking them. Well alright, maybe leave some dough for cooking...wait...who am I kidding!! No way!! Eat all the cookie dough!!

Glad your basement is getting finished!!
