Horton Hears a Whoo..Stinky.. and Easter in Sunny St. George

This past week was a lot of fun, filled with many first's and many memories. Last Monday I took Boston to his first Movie Theatre experience to see Dr. Seuss's Horton Hears a Whoo. A lot of people told me he is way to young and simply won't pay attention. I took the chance and I swear he was the best kid in that entire theatre. He enjoyed every minute of it. I think he was just so mesmerized by the huge screen and he's always loved TV ( I have to really try to limit him or he would watch it all day.) so paying attention wasn't a problem at all. We got popcorn and a drink and he snuggled up on my lap and popped piece after piece of popcorn in his mouth and sipped his drink through out the show. He seemed so grown up and it was a really fun experience. I can't wait for another great kid show to come out so we can take him back. He liked it so much he even wanted to stay through the credits!! I wish I had pictures of him with his big tub of popcorn. (Thanks to our neighbors and friends, Molly, Caleb, and Emma for inviting us!)
Last Wednesday our neighborhood had a little easter egg hunt for the kiddies. It really seemed like Boston's first because last year he wasn't very mobile and I just ended up picking up eggs and putting them in the basket for him. This year was a different story. As soon as he would find an egg he'd throw it on the sidewalk and break it open shattering candy everywhere. As soon as I would pick one up he'd throw another and the event was filled with me yelling "No.... Boston ... No... in the basket!!!!" The kids were limited to 12 eggs each and he had smashed the dozen within 2 minutes I swear. Once the eggs were gone.. he didn't see the point in staying and just started heading back home! Boston is very independant that way. If we are at the park or at a neighbors and he's had enough.. he just walks away and heads for home.. he calls the shots.. and I always have to tell people... "I guess we're going!"
On Friday we headed for Sunny St. George for Easter weekend. I always get nervous about the drive, but I'm not sure why because Boston is an awesome traveler. He didn't cry or get fussy at all either way. He just watches Curious George and Winnie the Pooh and eats treats and he's fine. He doesn't sleep however... not one once. Even if we take off right at nap time he puts up a fight to the death to stay awake. I've realized it's better to just take off after he wakes up. We did get a late start home on Sunday though and didn't get home until almost 9:30pm. I turned his TV off at 8pm and tried to coax him to go to sleep but he didn't fall alseep until we were about 2 minutes away from our house! St. George was a blast and it went by way too fast. My Mom planned an action packed weekend. We went to this awesome park by my sisters house and Boston loved playing in the sand of the volleyball court. We also took the boys (Boston and my nephew Jack) to Sand Hollow swimming pool. Boston loved sitting on our laps and going down the huge water slide. There was a great shallow area for little kids and we had a great time. We'll definately be checking it out more often on our St. George trips. Of course my Mom planned a HUGE easter egg hunt for the boys. They came home with so much stuff that it seemed like Christmas all over again. Boston ate way too much candy... actually we all did and right from the start of the Egg Hunt Boston managed to get in trouble by throwing my Mom's 50 year old easter basket that has been passed down to him .. in my parents pond!! Luckily it survived. The weekend was topped off with a gourmet meal by Mom and I am still craving the deviled eggs, cheesy potaoes and my Mom's yummy fruit salad and the strawberry pie!... There's nothing like a home cooked meal... I feel like a little kid again everytime I go home. Thanks Mom and Dad for a wonderful Easter!!!
One more note... I'll have JT post a small video of Boston laughing at the word "stinky" I told him earlier in the week that he was "stinky" when changing his diaper. I said it in a funny voice and he was in histarics for several minutes. He didn't find it quite as funny by the time we got the camera this time around.. but it's cute none the less. He is such a joy!
