May

We kept pretty busy in May. The crazy weather had us eating popsicles one day and putting on coats the next, but we survived by escaping outside every chance we got and making a little trip to St. George so we could pretend it was summer!!

Boston and Jocey are getting so big on me. Wordless little Joce, don't let her fool you, she understands Every word you say to her, but just reponds with "Yeah" "Uh huh" "Uh Uh" or "Ought oh." She gets Everything she wants. All of my parenting skills have gone down the toilet with this one. I am literally terrified of her scream, so I avoid hearing it as often as possible. She can often be seen walking around the house with a dripping otter-pop, dumping everything in her sight, and making what we call the "pirate eye."

We got a trampoline and Jocey could spend all day jumping and flailing her petite bod around. She is so adventurous and spunky. She's my tom boy and tries to wrestle Boston constantly. She'll eat almost anything these days as long as it is on my plate but would live off of sugar and diet coke if I let her, and some days I do!

Boston is our little Angel. We started a token economy system with him a couple months ago, so he is always working on his stars and working for a _____. Right now it's a Handy Manny toy. He's always reminding Jocey to work for her baby, or telling me "Good job working for your bicycle Mom!" It has helped so much though and I feel like I can get him to do just about anything if he can get a star on his chart. He is working on writing his letters, riding his bike, listening to story time, participating in music time, talking on the phone, and trying new foods. It has helped his palate to extend greatly and I now have hopes of someday being able to sit down and eat one meal together!

Bos wraps up his Terrific Tot's program at the Little Gym and his pre-school with the district the end of June. He's going to take swimming lessons through July and then we are so excited to start two new pre-schools. A typical class through New Castle in Draper which I think is Fabulous by the way, and then a pre-school through Autism Journey's which is like our home away from home! Boston's language is fabulous these days; he's using pro-nouns correctly and asking questions and having conversations, and using complete sentences. I am so proud of him, and yet it's still so hard to watch him struggle and get anxious. Yesterday I prompted him to tell Logan next door thanks for playing and after he said that he said "I Love you!" I about died.. we may need a social story about who we tell "I love you" to!

He is so creative these days. He always wants to cook something or make something. He is insanely independent. In fact last night he put himself to bed. He got his fish crackers and crystal light, (his bedtime snack every night) he brushed his teeth, got his pajamas and pull up and told me he could do it by himself and went in his room and went to bed! He has to put his own seat belt on. Open everything for himself. It drives me crazy and constantly reminds me of how much he is growing up!

JT has been crazy busy studying for insurance tests and cramming for finals. He finishes his bachelors in August and I am so incredibly proud of him for going back to school. He works to hard and plays to little and we love him so much.

I am setting fitness goals for the first time in about 10 years. I've been trying to diligently do Wii fit at night so I can get back into my pre-Jocey clothes. My diet is the next thing to dig into. I eat ridiculously awful, but one step at a time right?

I love to hear you guys are doing so well! Cute update. I felt bad we didn't meet up when you guys were down and i've been meaning to call. Me and some neighbor girls had a yard sale that day and i didn't get your message until that evening. Anyway, thanks for thinking of me and hopefully we can meet up sometime soon.
