Birthday Girl

Our sweet, mischievous, full of drama, capture your heart with those two fingers always in her mouth, 16 lb. miss Jocelyn Paige turned one on Friday. We headed to Sunny St. George as soon as I got done with the show Friday morning and spent 5 hours in the car. I couldn't help but feel guilty that we were participating in Jocelyn's least favorite activity on her Birthday, but the guilt really seeped in when we accidentally locked her in the car at the Burger King in Nephi. Poor baby.. but thumbs up to Nephi City who got a sheriff out in about 3 minutes. My mom and Hayley helped in throwing her a darling little party. Some sweet friends came to join in the celebration, including two cutie pie girls just Jocelyn's age, Annie and Alyvia. Jocelyn enjoyed all the attention and frosting. Boston enjoyed unwrapping all of Jocey's gifts and enjoyed the baby doll, stroller, swing, and car seat we got Jocey far more than the birthday girl did. We also gathered with JT's family for a small birthday celebration and through it all I couldn't help but to feel so blessed that my kids have such wonderful people in their lives who love them and support them.

In being totally honest and keeping it real. What a crazy year it's been. I know most of the time we say "Wow..where has the year gone.." But it's been one of those years that seemed to fullfil the idea of what 365 days should feel like. I'll admit half the time this past year I have longed for the days to pass a little quicker. I had told myself I was going to enjoy every minute of Jocelyn being a newborn since she will be my last baby. I wish I could have fulfilled that goal, but colic is down right stressful and unpleasant and she was the definition of colic. I am so grateful that most of the tears have turned to smiles, but her scream can still send me to a state of frustration like nothing else can. Luckily her sweet smile, and contagious laughter consistently reminds me how lucky I am to have her as a daughter. I love how she buries he head in my chest and even though her constant need for me is frustrating the idea that she needs me is beautiful. I always say I have never felt so popular in my whole life. My children and my husband are my best friends and I'm glad they need me, I certainly need them.

As Jocelyn fell asleep last night in the car (which Rarely happens) I looked back at heaven. I know I may be prejudiced, but I think she is the most beautiful little girl I have ever layed eyes on. My sister Hayley, took some precious pictures during our stay and I can't wait for her to send them to me so I can post them.

Our Jocey bug has no desire to start walking, but she is a climber and makes her way around speed crawling just fine. She loves to mimick making little sounds with her tongue, pucker up and make cute kissing sounds, clap her hands and wave hi/buh bye. I love you my little bug. Happy 1st Birthday.
