This weekend Jt's side of the family gathered together at Gil and Grandma D's cabin for a little get together and I said I was totally up for the occasion as long as my very pregnant body could sleep in my own bed and we could just make it a day trip.
On a side note, we had 4th row tickets to see Martina Mcbride, courtesy of the Eagle on Friday night. We had a blast! I love so many of her songs and she looks Amazing at 42.So.. back to the cabin trip. We took off about 9am Saturday morning and Boston did great on the trip up, watching the Fox and the Hound the whole way. It was great to just visit and breathe in the fresh air and eat lots and lots of food that I didn't have to prepare. Boston took a great nap in the pack and play and he had a great time on Grandpa Gil's swing, playing horse shoe with Dad and uncle CJ, and going for a little nature walk. ( I didn't make it far at all on the walk so it was a pretty short trip.) The bumpy ride didn't send me into labor, but it was a great way to spend a Saturday.

Sunday, we went to Grandma MaryAnn's for dinner. CJ, Brooke and Avelyn were in town and we wanted to see them before they left. Aunt Jamie decided to let Boston and Avy make sugar cookies. She was showing them how to roll the dough and put it on the cookie sheet, but Boston couldn't help himself and shoved the whole piece of dough into his mouth. He went about his business as Avy and Jamie rolled cookie dough, but then he had to sneak back and steal another piece before the cookies were put into the oven! He totally takes after his Father! ( his mother would never do that!) He loved decorating them though after they cooled, even if they had more frosting and sprinkles than cookie!
So, I hope the next time I post it will be about Jocelyn's arrival. I'm having lots of contractions, but nothing regular yet.. so in the mean time I'll brag about my boy. I've been working with him o
n some ABA therapy.. which basically means I reward him for doing things. (This seems to work with most of us, who wants to do something for free!) I've been working with him on pointing to things he recognizes and also working on some sign language. Yesterday he did SO SO well. He pointed to the ball, train, boat, shoes, apple, dog, cat, flower, car, and duck 100% first try around! He can also identify the strawberry, banana, bike, toes, nose, eyes and a few others from a different book. His speech therapist came Friday and said he is doing amazing. I am so proud of his progress. He interacts with her so well and loves to play all of her games. He lifts my shirt now and points to my belly saying "belly" (something he hasn't done for months.) Last night as we read a book he pointed to a picture of a ball and said "ball" even though I didn't give him a treat! He
really is SO smart, I just have to get it out of him! You can tell he's taking it all in and storing all this information in that big head of his! (He's still in the 95% for head circumferance!) He has figured out our remote control and the DVD player downstairs! (even my Mom can't work these gagets!) Also, on a cute note, every time I put him down for a nap or at bed time he looks me straight in the eye and says "bye." He may not be able to say "I love you" yet, but those big brown eyes and his sweet "bye" says the same thing to me. He totally steals my heart.

Carly,
This post totally made me laugh. Are you referring to the time when we went camping together? Ben and I still talk about that. That was the most fun we have ever had camping. You were hilarious and totally confused.
I am so impressed you went to a cabin. It's not like you at all...
I seriously laugh everytime I read your blog, in a good way that is. I love it. I can just picture the sheets over the deer's heads, and I have almost hyperventilated in a tent too. I like camping, but I would pick a condo with a facial and a massage anytime.
Yea!!! A fellow non-trooper! I hate getting my freekin hair caught in the tent zipper, moisture on the tent walls in the morning absolutely sucks and the shadows who knows what lurking outside the tent all night...uh...no thanks! I'm glad you had fun...I could live on raw cookie dough and coke slurpees! MmMmmm!
That sounds like a fun weekend. Boston is doing so good. I am so happy for him. I cant wait to meet baby.
lets go camping I am sure jocey would come and say hi!! HA HA!! I agree Bossy is the sweetest thing!! He stole my heart to!! And I am so jealous of Martina I am sure she was amazing!!!
I love reading your blog too. I love your sweet words at the end about Boston. I just love you and your family so much. You are such an amazing mommy. You are darling and tiny...I am so jealous of how cute you are!! I think camping is fun but not being 9 months pregnant. You are a trooper!!
Aren't you a trooper! I can't imagine camping at 9 months pregnant even if you do love to camp. We are supposed to go camping tomorrow for the first time in our new tent. I'm a little freaked out.
It is so good to hear how well Boston is doing. I was wondering if you had him involved in any early intervention programs. It sounds like you are doing an amazing job working with him. It's sad to realize how many simple things and daily tasks that we take for granted. Keep up the good work and I hope that baby gets here soon!
Boston is the best. Thank you for letting Aidan play the other day, even though Aidan has been such a cry baby!
Carly you are such a trooper going anywhere a few days before giving birth. LOL. Bridger has a speech therapist that comes to the house too. We are doing sign language and working on TIME OUT. LOL. I totally know what you mean about them understanding so much!! Bridger understands everything I say, yet he can't vocalize it. The signing has been great!! Has helped him say so many words!! You look so great for being 9 months pregnant, I cant' wait to see little Jocey!!
