Jocelyn Paige Young

She's finally here!!! Our sweet baby girl was born August 7, 2008 at 11pm. I was really shooting for an 8-08-08 birthday but she has a mind of her own and just couldn't wait one more hour! Her birthday is pretty neat though in the fact that she shares it with my Great Grandmother who would have turned 100 this year!
I can' believe how quickly she arrived. I had a dr. appointment at 9:30am Thurs. where he told me they would have to push my induction date back a day because something came up and he couldn't do it next Wednesday. I walked out kind of bummed and by the time I stopped at the Maverick by our house I was having contractions! I was in a bit of denial at first, but they persisted throughout the day. JT had a final that evening and we kept debating whether he should go or not. I told him to go ahead and that I thought she was still a little ways out. By 7pm that night things were getting fairly intense. I called my Mother in-law and asked her if she could come and stay with Boston. Jt got home at 7:30 and I thought we'll wait until 9pm. because I have a few more things I want to get done around the house. By 8:15 my contractions were no more than two minutes apart and I was in quite a bit of pain. We got to the hospital at 8:30pm and to my surprise I was already at a 6. They got me an epidural right off the bat, but it only took on one side of my body. At 10:30 my doc. said he'd break my water and I was inbetween a 7-8. I was debating on having him break it because I wanted to make it until midnight so she'd have the cool birthday. The pain overtook me though and he broke my water at 10:40pm. I thought we might still make it to 12, but she was born right at 11pm! Things went really fast. I was in sooooooo much pain and was screaming at JT to help me!!!! I about ripped his hand off and I think I only cursed a couple of times! When he told me he couldn't help me though, I said, "then where's my MOM!!!" It only took me 4 pushes to get Jocelyn out and my Mom walked in after push #2! She made it just in the nick of time! Looking back things really did go very smoothly if it wasn't for that dang epidural!!
We love every inch of her. She weighed 6 lbs. 11oz. and is a shorty like her Mama at 17 1/2 in. long. She has a full head of dark hair just like Boston did, but I'm sure it will all fall out and turn blonde. She already loves to snuggle and nurse and she lets us give her about 1000 kisses a day! She has her days and nights mixed up right now which means the last couple days have felt like one really big day because we've had so little sleep; but I guess that's to be expected. My kids are just naturally terrible sleepers. I told JT that Boston and Jocelyn must have made a pack in heaven to drive their Mother crazy with being up all night and using me as a human pacifier! They can totally get away with it though because I think they are the cutest babies in the world!
I couldn't believe how much I missed my Boston boy while we were in the hospital. He is my whole world and although I hugely appreciate my parents watching him and keeping him very entertained I just wanted to eat him up when we came home. He's not so into me though these days. He hasn't thrown a fit yet about Jocelyn, but he just goes to JT or my Dad instead of me! He was very excited to see me when they came to the hospital, but as soon as he noticed Jocey in my arms he turned away and said "NO!!!" He had a blast though putting my hospital bed in every possible position!
I remember the nurse saying about Jocelyn "she's just perfect!" and we certainly think she is. I feel so lucky to have one of each and to have two healthy kids. We are so beyond blessed.
