Home Improvements

I have been on a major home improvement kick lately. Every time I would walk into one of my neighbors houses or go visit family I would think, "Oh their house is so cute, there are so many things I want to do to our place." Truth is we have hardly done a thing since we finished the basement two years ago. I want a lot of pricey things, but since hardwood floors, new appliances, granite countertops, and a fireplace are not in the budget I decided to do a couple little things we could afford.

Exhibit A... I HATED the fabric on these chairs and I did from the day we bought the set. They had lots of little stains on them from two sticky fingered kids and just desperately needed a make over, so we took them from this...

To This.. I think they turned out very nice; but I have to admit, I had Nothing to do with them. My dear Mother and mostly my sweet hubby did the whole thing. They just took it over; I think they know all too well I just don't have it in me to craft.

Project #2 We found a killer deal on these tiles at Home Depot and I have wanted a back splash from the time we bought our home, so after 3 1/2 years I finally got one! I love love love it, and find myself staring at it all the time!! Thank You Honey!

We also found a great little secret over the weekend. I am so clueless about my surroundings. We could have lagoon down the street and I would never know it unless someone physically took me there! Anyhoo, did you know we have a beach right down the street??? This is at Daybreak just North of us. I am convinced that someday I want to end up in Daybreak. If I would have know about this little piece of heaven I would have taken the kids all summer! Luckily, we are supposed to be in the 80's all week. Daybreak beach here we come!!

Boston wanted to catch fish with his bare hands!! He was so determined to do it! He has no fear of fish, works, or bugs of any kind.

Building our sand castle. Boston was totally convinced we were at the real beach!

While my parents were in town my Dad took Boston over to Inn N Out and of course everyone fell in love with him there and they gave him a hat!
