Happy Birthday Old Man

JT turned 30 yesterday, although we celebrated all weekend. He is such a kid and begged me to let him open his birthday present Friday night. I got him a bike trainer so he can ride his bike inside all winter. I attempted to throw a very impromptu surprise party for him Friday night with just a few neighbors..but he caught on quickly and surprised us by coming in through the back door!! Saturday night we went to Tepanyaki..JT's all time favorite..with his Mom, Kelli, Lyman and baby Taylor. The kids loved the fire..(Boston kept begging for more infact) ..they loved slurping noodles and gazing at the fish tank. Yesterday the celebration continued with dinner at his Mom's house. I absolutely love getting together with family and making a big deal out of birthday's.

I've been thinking about all the great things about JT.. there is so much..I am lucky.
So here's my top 30 things I love about JT in completely random order.

1. I love that he watches Food Network and HGTV. It's like having a girlfriend and a man all rolled into one.

2. On that note..I love that he is so into relaxation, classical music, and bubble baths. He wants his own Zen room if we ever get to build our dream house.

3. Speaking of dream houses..I knew JT was a keeper when he told me he liked Abstract Art. We love all the same crazy decor and get giddy over the parade of homes..hitting any ultra modern house we can find.

4. While we're on the note of things in common..I love that we both love sushi rolls. We're cheap..so this usually means stopping by Harmon's for a california roll..but it's our thing..and that is priceless.

5. I love the little things that are just "us" in addition to the sushi I love getting slurpees and grape laffy taffy's with him and warming the taffy under our legs until they're perfectly soft.

6. That reminds me of candy and how I love to watch JT eat a 3 musketeer. He takes all the chocolate off... and then eats the nooget. It's disgusting..but so JT.

7. I love how he soaks his icecream in chocolate syrup and then beats it until it resembles more of a milkshake than icecream scoops.

8. On a random note..I love how he tries to learn things he wasn't originally good at when we got married, but he's learned how to hang drywall and nail floor boards and all that manly man stuff.

9. More randomness..I love how we are both so frugal and have the same goals for our future. I have to tell him to spend money all the time.

10. I love how he can't dance...at all. It makes me feel more secure in the fact that I have two left feet. He does the most insane moves..like the sprinkler, and the robot. I blush and have to turn away every time.

11. I love that he tries so hard to take care of himself by working out and doing crazy clenze diets. He's the polar opposite of my couch potato bum.

12. I love how he is always protecting my sleep. Always concerned that I am getting my rest and insisting that I sleep downstairs so I don't hear Jocelyn up half the night (yes..she is 14 months old and yes she still sleeps like a newborn..and yes we have let her cry it out..time and time again.)

13. I love it when he tells me dinner is good..even when I know it isn't. I like it even better when it is and he notices.

14. I love that he bathes the kids everynight giving me a chance to sit down for a few minutes or clean up the kitchen.

15. Speaking of cleaning up the kitchen..I usually don't. I tend to plop down on the couch and then he ends up cleaning the kitchen half the time.

16. While we're on the note of the kitchen. I love when he brings me breakfast down while I am working..and I'm not talking cold cereal.

17. He's a good kisser. I shouldn't write that ..my parent's read this blog, but it is true. Infact..I wasn't that into JT until he kissed me and then I thought "I like this guy"

18. I like that I made him nervous that I would break-up with him when we were dating.

19. I love that he used to do anything for me when we were dating..shave his legs, bleach his hair, anything.

20. I love that he always tries to get home at 6pm because he knows I like him home intime for dinner and to help me get the kids ready for bed.

21. I love that he is back in school and tries to hard to provide for our family.

22. I love that he is the ultimate optimus, my glass is always half empty..his is always half full. I always tell him "You be positive..I'll be realistic" but I'm so glad he's positive, especially when it comes to Boston.

23. Speaking of the kiddos..I love how he gets on the ground and plays with them and rough houses with them and flies them through the air. They simply adore him.

24. Complete randomness here..but I love how he makes his own luch all the time and then forgets it in the fridge and walks out the door.

25. I love that he is sarcastic..and I never get it. He still laughs at himself. He says "That's what she said.." all the time and I'm always like "huh??"

26. Speaking of laughing..he has the best laugh..and laughs out loud at movies..I mean a huge belly laugh. He always asks me if I liked the movie and when I say "yes..he said..but I couldn't tell because you weren't laughing." I'm so much more serious than he is.

27. I love that he is ticklish ..especially on his feet. He's not faking it..he really is unbelievably ticklish and laughs like a girl.

28. I love that he will go with me to St. George any weekend I want to see my family. I know he gets bored and I run off on him and go shopping with my Mom and Sis, but he never complains.

29. I love that he does all the man stuff, like mowing the lawn and cleaning out the garage and that when we go together in the car he always drives.

30. I love that when we got married and Neal A. Maxwell asked him why he loved me he said "well...just look at her!" Nice one honey!

That was so easy..there is so much I love about my Honey. I am so lucky!! Hope you had a Happy 30th Birthday sweetheart!
