What A Week!!

I know why they say you often need a vacation from your vacation; we were so busy this past week, and we didn't even leave the state. It all started last Saturday when my family came up for the Autism Speaks walk. We had an amazing turn out despite a torrential downpour. Thank you all so much for supporting us.
My sister Hayley and my nephew Jack decided to spend the week with us and from that day on it was nothing but non-stop entertainment and fun. Monday we hit Veterans' Memorial Park in the morning and the Aquarium in the afternoon. We also inherited a little lost kitten that day. I went into Jocelyn's room about 3am Monday morning to hear the meow of a cat. I woke JT, much to his dismay, and the search for the kitten began. He saw it crawl up into his Dad's Mercedes but we couldn't catch it. As we took off for the aquarium that afternoon we heard a "meow meow" coming from my car and freaked out! Cash Kener luckily helped us pull the little fella out of my engine and the boys were so excited. Unfortunately, the kitten escaped back up into the Mercedes not 5 minutes later and it took a second rescue to finally capture the little black kitten we now call "Sadie" short for Mercedes. Boston asks for her constantly and so we now have more pets than kids.. and I'm not sure how I feel about that! Anyway, back to our adventures, the boys loved the Aquarium and they left sporting matching frog backpacks that were oh so cute.
Tuesday we hit up Wheeler Farm with Molly, Caleb, Emma, and Truman. Animals always seem to be a hit, so once again the kids had a blast.
Wednesday is a busy therapy day for Boston, but we managed to squeeze in a trip to the Dinosaur museum with my cousin Katie and her kiddos and I have heard "Dinos?" nearly everyday since. I think our pass will be put to good use! (Infact we went back on Saturday with my Dad.)
Thursday it was more animals with a trip to Hogle Zoo. It had been about a year since we had been and the animals never cease to amaze me. They seem like they are straight out of a story book. The boys were amazed and loved it all, but Boston was a bit disapointed they don't have Hippos. What zoo doesn't have Hippos? Also on a down note, Jocelyn woke up extremely fussy from her nap this day and JT (what a guy!) rushed her to the doctors to find she had double ear infections. Poor baby.
Friday we went to Discovery Gateway and I think that may have been the highlight of the trip. The boys had so much fun. Again, another pass that will be put to good use!
Saturday we did our normal Little Gym thing, and another trip to the Dinosaur Museum and then it was off to a fiesta, celebrating my Grandpa's 75th Birthday and my Aunt's 50th birthday.
It all ended with a Mother's Day breakfast with some of the women I hold most dear.
It was so wonderful to spend the whole week with Hayley and Jack. Boston loves Jack to pieces and he won't know what to do without him now that he is gone back home. I think he thought he had just moved in with us. We had such a blast. I will certainly miss hearing his "OK" and " No Way!"
Oh and last but not least, JT and I celebrated 7 years yesterday. Best decision I ever made. We went to Cheesecake Factory on Friday (thanks Mom and Dad for watching the kiddos) and then we are going to Miss Saigon this Saturday.. thanks hon..I can't wait.. it's my favorite play ever!!
