One Lucky Momma

I know JT needs to post pictures, and that's the reason anyone checks out our blog anyway (to see the latest pics of our cute munchkins, but this is like my open book diary and in thinking about my sweet kiddos this morning I just had to write again. I found this on Jen's blog http://adailyscoop.blogspot.com/ and it made me feel like one lucky Momma just to have my kids safe. I'll admit I have been a little pessimistic lately and I've gone through a whirl wind of emotions since Boston's diagnosis of PDD-NOS. Someday's I get really mad, thinking why in the world would God give this darling little boy these challenges. Sometimes I get really sad because I don't know what his future holds and I doubt it will be what I dreamed. JT is always much more optimistic than me about everything in our lives, and for that I am eternally grateful. We have a new motto in our family taken from Curious George (which would play not stop in our house if I allowed it!) When Bill and the Man with the Yellow hat get stuck on a ledge Bill says "this is bad, but I can think of 56 ways it could be worse!" That is usually the case and I think of that phrase often. After reading this families blog I thought "yes, life could be much much worse and Boston will be ok as long as we stick together as a family." I really do have a gut feeling that Boston is going to contribute something amazing to this world. ( in my mind he already has!) There is so much going on in that big head of his! Oh and I hope JT can post some video of Boston showing off his new vocal skills! I am one super proud Momma!

Here's a tribute to my two amazing kiddos!

My Top Ten Favorite Things About Boston

1. His contagious big belly laugh. I have never heard a child laugh like Boston and he started laughing like this when he was just 3 months old. He has all his Daddy's tickle spots.

2. His amazing smile can light up my whole world.

3. His Big Brown eyes. My mom says he got them from her and I think she is right.

4. He needs me. Pretty much every second of the day he needs me and will not let me out of his sight. The past two years have made me feel more loved and needed than I have ever felt in my life.

5. His creativity and perspective on things. He is always thinking and I love it when he puts his finger to the side of his mouth and says "hhmmm" with a very concerned look.

6. He always involves me in his play and shows me what he has been playing with everyday when I pick him up in the morning's.

7. His precious voice and how he says CAT with so much enthusiasm. You have to hear him say it. It's darling.

8. He can do the most perfect airplane noise and he used to blow raspberries throughout church when he was just tiny.

9. I love how he will cuddle with us now and put his head on my shoulder. I love holding him and putting his cheek next to mine.

10. I love bedtime with him. It's our special time of reading stories and singing songs. He prefers if I do bedtime. He let us know that last night and when I told JT it's because you don't read with enthusiasm and JT said "yes I do." Boston said "NO" and repeatedly told him "bye... bye!!"

My Top Ten Favorite Things About Jocelyn (this could be tough .. she's young!)

1. She will sleep on us and lay her head on our shoulders ( she's a bit more cuddly than Boston was.)

2. It's pretty cute when I look down at her when she is nursing and she has fallen asleep and she's smiling. If she could be in this position permanently she would be a happy gal!

3. Her beautiful long fingers that I believe she inherited from my equally beautiful Grandma Olsen.

4.The scrunchy face she pulls when she is just waking up and starts stretching.

5. The "kissy face" she pulls.

6. Holding her and placing her cheek next to mine.

7. I love her the most when she is sleeping! (this is rare but oh so precious to look upon.)

8. I love how she is so dainty and girly. She looks beautiful in all of the headbands and clothes I have for her. She is my real life little doll.

9. She has an appreciation for Modern art and loves to look at it just like her big brother did!

10. She is healthy and strong and I will never forget the nurse saying "she's just perfect!" after she was born.
