Triathalon Man

We headed down to Sunny St. George this past weekend so J.T. could participate in a much anticipated and prepared for triathlon. I've watch him bike, run, and swim tirelessly over the last few months and I must say I really admire his strength and determination. The results have produced a much thinner, muscular physic that I won't complain about for two seconds.. infact I tell him to take his shirt off around the house all the time because I can't believe how incredible he looks. He lost a gut in the last 3 months and I've gained one. That part is a wee bit depressing. I feel like I've never looked worse in my life, and he's never looked better. But, I do have a great excuse in the fact that I am carrying his child, so I'll work on getting back into shape after little Jocelyn settles into our family. Back to the triathlon... or should I say biathlon if there is such a thing because the swim portion of the race was cancelled due to high wind conditions after hundreds of swimmers had sat in freezing water for about 40 minutes. I felt so bad about this because it was the portion of the race JT was most prepared for. He even lost his wedding ring at the gym while training for the swim. I must say, I was relieved in the fact that he didn't have to risk drowning and leaving me a widow with two kids, but I felt bad he didn't get the full triathlon experience. Despite hyper-extending his knee about 3 weeks prior, (I won't mention how to save his ego!) he did really good for his first try ending I think 523 out of 901 approx. So coming in 50/50 isn't too bad. If it was me I would have come in dead last. Infact I probably would be dead .. still laying on the side of the road because I have no desire what-so-ever to ever push my body to that extent. I want to tone up after Jocey, but I don't want that horrible feeling of weak, lifelessness that quickly turns to vomiting. I've had enough pregnancy vomit in the last two years to sustain me for life. I like being comfortable and relaxed, and breathing easy, even if it means I'm a bit pudgy.
Going to St. George also means seeing my family which is always a treat. Boston is the best traveler ever, so I have to hand it to the kid again. We didn't even have to stop either way. He had a BLAST in my parents back yard, playing with the hose and running through the sprinker and digging in my Mom's flowerbeds (which I know she truely appreciated!) and making mud puddles. We took him to the splash park and although it took him awhile to warm up (he's his mother in the making... which translates to painfully awkward and shy beyond description.) he ended up splashing around and having a blast.
Saturday was also our 6th Wedding Anniversary and my parents watched Boston while we went to Texas Roadhouse and shopped for Mother's Day gifts at the last minute. (It was super romantic let me tell you!) I hope JT knows how much I love him though, despite our lack of romance.... between the almost two year old and the ever growing belly these days it's pretty much non-existant. The past 6 years have been a rollercoaster ride, but I ride I would take over and over again. I can not imagine my life without him. He and Boss, and Joce, and Snugs are my whole life and it all started because of him.
Finally our tripped ended on Mother's Day and I have to say this holiday is not all it is cracked up to be. Mine started with a wake up call from Boston just after 4am. I listened to him laugh and bounce and jibber jabber until 6am.. when he finally went back to sleep for a whole hour! I wasn't happy to say the least. I am a walking zombie because of my lovely job that wakes me up at 3am and weekends are precious.. so this was not welcome... but as soon as you see that kids smile and feel him lay his head on your shoulder you can't help but instantly forgive him. I guess that's what Mother's do, I know mine has forgiven me many a time. Your kids can warm your heart like nothing else and I am so honored.. even if I am tired beyond description... to be called Boston and Jocelyn and Snuggles Mother.
Thanks to my Mom, Dad, Hayley, Shawn, Jack and Josh for making our trip to St. George so wonderful. We enjoyed every second of being with you.

Sorry about these pictures. We forgot our camera and the pictures and video were taken with a cell phone....
