Birthday Weekend

As much as I'm in denial... I must come to grips with the fact that I just turned 27. It seems like only yesterday that I was a teenager doing stupid things and crushing on boys so I have no idea how I entered my LATE 20's so suddenly. I couldn't have asked for a better Birthday though this year; it was simply perfect.
First off I was blessed to have the event occur on a Saturday which meant forgoing my 3am alarm clock. JT, Boston, and Snuggles let me sleep in until almost 7am and JT brought Boston in bed with us upon his waking to snuggle with us. It started the day out just right and made me realize how much I miss being home in the morning. Snuggling up to his sweet kissable cheeks, precious smile and jibber jabber morning talk. Boston has become such a cuddle bug and I love every moment of it.
My parents, sister and nephew Jack came all the way from St. George to spend the weekend with me and it made everything so special. I had been waiting for their visit for weeks. Saturday morning Grandpa treated us to breakfast at IHOP where Boston got his very own pancakes, eggs, bacon and apple juice. Then my Mom, Hayley, and I went to get pedicures and manicures and out to Olive Garden for lunch. A trip to Ikea topped off a wonderful afternoon with just the girls. I love, love, love having girl time with my Mom and sister and I cherished every moment of it. That evening JT and I went on a DATE if you can believe it!! We went to Z-Gallerie at the Gateway where he let me pick out a beautiful new abstract piece to go above our fireplace in our 95% finished BASEMENT!!!! (That's right.... JT has been working hour after hour after work and on weekends to get our basement finished in time for my parents visit and although we don't have electricity yet.. we have carpet.. tile.. paint and even the 50 in. plasma hanging on the wall!!) Boston loves playing down there in his official playroom and I think we'll have a lot of fun down there as a family, watching movies and playing pool. It almost doubles our living space and it feels like we have a new house!! ... back to the date, we went to Thaifoon for dinner and although it was oh so yummy.. it was the third meal out that I had eaten that day and with Jocelyn in tow at almost 23 weeks I literally felt like I was going to pop! It was such a nice day and I owe it all to my wonderful family... thank you!
Yesterday JT's mom came up for a b-bque and homemade icecream (thanks Mom and Dad for the icecream maker.. awesome grill pan, baking pan, and oodles of cute maternity clothes! and to Hay for the nice shiney new cookie sheets.. I needed them so badly!) Boston was Fasinated by the icecream maker and watched it the whole time. He loved putting ice in .. but wasn't thrilled with the end result since he doesn't like ice cream and just smeared it around his highchair tray. My pasta salad was a hit with the Boss though and we had a lot of fun hanging out with Grandma Young. (Thank you so much for the money and to Kelli and Lyman for the yummy candle!.. and to Grandma and Grandpa Olsen for the Beautiful orchid!)
I feel so spoiled.. but I was brought back to reality from the blissful weekend by my alarm clock at 3am this morning. Gotta love my life as a radio traffic reporter... oh so Glamorous!
